As you all know that 23rd March is a red letter day. Because of that resolution which had been passed on 23rd March 1940. This day has a significant importance in the history of Pakistan. The representatives of millions of the sub-continent came under the strong and enthusiastic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam on 23rd March 1940. In this resolution, they determined a new destination for them.
We should keep it in mind that the establishment of Pakistan is not the result of a mere accident, It has been achieved after a long struggle. In spite of living together for a long time, Muslims and Hindus could not mix each other. The reason of which was political social and religious differences. Muslims decided that is nearly impossible for both communities to live in one country. So the Muslims of Indo-Pak took the decision of separate land for them through the resolution which was passed on 23rd March in Lahore.
The resolution was that those areas in which Muslims majority had been living should be combined as an independent and free state.
We see that Hindu’s were very strongly against Lahore resolution. At that time “Hindus times” wrote that in order to satisfy one sect we cannot break the unity of sub-continent and this would be equal to destroying the self and progress of whole mass “Gandhi” gave it a name of suicide Pakistan-resolution has significant importance in Muslims struggle for freedom. It is a milestone. Thus Muslims leaders fought for freedom and at last with the sacrifice of thousands of lives, we could be able to get a separate land i-e. Pakistan after the achievement of Independence our whole nation celebrates this day 23rd March with new spirit and enthusiasm.
The celebration of 23rd March is actually the continuity of Pakistan movement. This day reminds us the sacrifices of our ancestors. At this day we should keep in mind the purpose of achievement of Pakistan. Today let us take an oath that we shall make Pakistan a peaceful land and we will not hesitate from any kind of sacrifice of Pakistan.
